I spent some time as a creative director at Aircards

I worked within a small team, participating in client calls, pitching, designing, and creating WebAR content for a diverse array of projects.

I became intimately familiar with the strengths and limitations of app-less augmented reality, building a variety of pipeline and optimization tools in the process.

Here are a few examples work I did during that time.

Super Bowl Halftime AR Show ft. The Weeknd

The Super Bowl AR Weeknd experience was activated by scanning a QR code present on special edition Pepsi cans.

My main task was building the tunnel and animated content synchronized to "Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd.

I created the animated texture map and geometry using After Effects and Houdini.

In order to optimize the scene all lighting effects including reflections and bloom were built in After Effects and baked into the video texture.

Seattle Kraken Stadium Launch

I worked as an art director and tech artist on the Seattle Kraken stadium WebAR experience.

In addition to creative direction, I built an optimized ocean + rope simulation in Houdini then procedurally baked it to joints for gltf export.

I also did some initial design work for the "Navigator" character, pictured below. (3D model by Leonard Hicks)

NIH "All Of Us" Street Art

I worked as an art director on this National Institute of Health street art project in Seattle.

The purpose of the project was to describe the All of Us research project through fun and informative animated vignettes.

I built a majority of the 3D assets and animations in the experience. Below are some early designs I made to define the visual style.

"The Hundred" AR Cricket Match

I worked as art director on an app-less AR Cricket game for The Hundred. Pictured below are my initial designs for the project.

I also built a texturing pipeline for the jerseys and did some miscellaneous modeling and animation.

Thank you for taking a look.

I participated in too many projects during my time at Aircards to fit on one page. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to hear more!
